Trees for Troops Recognized at the White House as a Joining Forces National Finalist

In April 2012, Trees for Troops was recognized at the White House as one of 20 organizations nationwide that were finalists in the Joining Forces Community Challenge. Joining Forces is an initiative started by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden to recognize organizations that provide outstanding service and support to military families. Nigel Manley, Christmas SPIRIT Foundation chairman, and Amy Mills, former assistant director, represented Trees for Troops at the celebration event at the White House.

WE DID IT! 100,000th Tree Delivered to Camp Pendleton
Trees for Troops' 100,000th tree was given to Sgts. Jonathan and Jessica Felix and their two children, at Camp Pendleton on December 9, 2011. This Christmas Tree is even more special as the entire family was home together for Christmas after alternating deployments.
Thank you for helping Trees for Troops provide more than 100,000 Christmas trees to military families since 2005! We could not have done it without the help of FedEx, Christmas Tree growers, farms and lots; the National Christmas Tree Association, state and regional Christmas Tree associations, and consumers everywhere who made donations, as well as the many volunteers who work in support of the program.
